Morgantown is a small town in south central Indiana with a population of 986 people. The Morgantown Department of Public Works has a 2-lagoon system that was having serious issues with short circuiting and sludge accumulation in the first cell due to several years of overloading the system with septage hauled in and dumped without any prescreening or pretreatment.
In order to address their sludge accumulation Covalen installed four ProFusion units in combination with the biochemical CBX ProOxidizer in April of 2014.
Covalen installed the ProFusions in a line in the lagoon and created a hydraulic curtain that pushes the water against the natural flow of the lagoons in order to address the short circuiting.

The combination of ProFusions and CBX resulted in a significant reduction in sludge and over time the levels of ammonia, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), and total suspended solids (TSS) have improved.
